Just got home a little bit ago from school. Stupid batteries in my dig cam where dead or there'd be pics here now.
Got the intake and heads off the :v6: today and started on a valve job. Found out there was a bent exhaust valve on the #4 cyl. That just happens to be the same valve/cyl that has the no-lobe on the camshaft. All the valve guides looked good except that one and one other on the other head. Our teacher said they didn't look too bad and he had some Kliners for it that we could put in next time. Just need to get a new valve for the Bent one.

Pretty cool having all the tools available. Hot tanked the heads, sandblasted the valves, ground the valves, started grinding the valve seats before I left. Over all the engine looks pretty good. Just that one stinkin valve screwed everything up.

Pics in 2 weeks. Gotta go to a wedding next week.

It is nice having everything you need all in one place.
You going to magnaflux the heads to make sure there are no cracks?

If I do I have to take that out to a shop. I thought we where going to be able to do everything needed in class. I guess we can do simple reaming, honing, but if a new valve guide needs to be put in, or boring on the block, that has to be done at a shop. Kinda wanted to learn how to do that really. It shouldn't be a problems though Jerry. Didn't have any problems with the block with any leaks that would indicate a crack in the block. Hardly any wear in the cyl either. Only real problem is this one bad bent valve stem that caused excessive wear on that one cam lobe.
