Helping a friend pull the Warn hubs off his rig last nite. Pulled the bolts out, dial section comes off, remove snap ring, inner piece comes off. Side 1 done. Go to other side ,pull off the 6 bolts, outer section won't come off!!! It's like its locked onto the axle and won't release. You can spin the entire assy around and hear it turn the axle, move the dial but doesn't want to release. This side does have a set screw on the outer housing, removed that as I thought it might release the housing from the dial but no go. It got dark, so rather than resort to a prybar , we left it for the nite. Any thoughts?

That was my thought, the brass dial was looking like it had been turned w/pliers- rough and chewed up looking. With the setscrew removed I hoped we could pull the outer housing off leaving the dial/knob behind. No dice with gentle tapping and prying. As they're destined for spares, I'll have him resort to the BFH/prybar til something gives I guess. Found this while searching:http://www.jeep-trucks.com/hubs/warn/wl2.php Saved for future reference :)
