No Vin will casting # help

    I have ni VIn plate because someone took it off. Wanted it to look military and it was on the dash. THey must have thrown it away. I am trying to find out the year. I was wondering it the number on the engine would help place it, I think it's a 55-57 not positive, it's a f head 4 cyl.

    Well it could be possibly there underneath the rust.
    I looked on the frame and did not find any number. It could be covered in rust though??? Also cant check the other location because exactly where it should be someone mounted a plate to the fire wall and then mounted a double master cylinder.

    They mounted a master cylinder on the passenger side?

    Nevermind, I see what you mean... I misread... :oops:
    Wire brush the top of the frame rail in those areas mentioned. You should be able to see some numbers stamped... sometimes they are lightly stamped, can be obscured by rust/paint/dirt etc.
