Swapping Body

    Can you put a cj5 body on a cj3 frame? I have a cj3 frame and it has cj5 body.

    I don't believe you can. the Flattie frame is too short by about an inch IIRC.

    unless something has been done about it, you should have an overhang of the body in the rear.

    It has cross tube in front that steering mounts to. Did that come on cj5?It also has u-bolt style spring hangers. I want a lift but not sure what lift is best.

    We put a CJ2A body on a 69' CJ5 frame. The 2A mounting bolts went right into the factory mounting holes on the 5 frame despite the 5 frame being 81" vs 80" on the 2A. We couldn't beleive it. I know it isn't exactly what you asked but I think it should help a little.
