Does anyone know how long a stock clutch rod on a 3A is supposed to be? I just got my Jeep back together last night and took it for it's first test drive with my rebuilt transmission with the t90c gears (new clutch and pressure plate too). Everything seems to work well, except I found that the clutch is not releasing all the way. It still has some drag when the pedal is to the floor. Looks like the clutch rod had been modified, so I want to just fab up a new one to the right length.

should be 10-1/2" if I recall
a popular mod is to cut the 90* ends off of the stock rod, thread the rod on both ends, and install either threaded heim joints or clevis forks on both ends; then bolts or clevis pins are used to secure to the shafts/bellcaranks.
be sure to use jam nuts on the rod.
this gives you more adjustment options on either end of the rod.
a search may produce pictures of both mods

Sounds like a great idea. I'll fab up a nice adjustable rod tonight after work. Thanks a lot for the advice.

YOu could also do something similar with a turnbuckle.

you could adjust it until your find the sweet spot and then tighten it down with a nut.
