Just FYI - those are actually the CJ5 225 headers, rather than the 225/Flatfender conversion headers that AA sells. The CJ5 headers are too wide, so you have to cut the inner fenderwell to give them a place to exit. I also heated the tubes and bent them in a little, so the mufflers wouldn't be out right at the edge of the tub.

They are 2.5" lift CJ springs. AMC CJ (76-86) where the front is 2" wide and the rear are 2.5" wide.

They were what I had laying around and I actually wish I would have gone with just a stock AMC CJ spring or maybe a 1" lift YJ springs. The ones I used were too high.

    Well, yes and no...

My brother owns it now, so I still see it. Unfortunately, he's not really into "maintenance", so it has REALLY gone downhill since I sold it to him 3 years ago.

I like it, and like it's ability on the trail. But, it's not currently a street-able Jeep. The tires/wheels are too heavy, coupled with the lack of shocks, and the spools in both axles - leads to some pretty wicked axle hop at speeds over about 35MPH. Nothing that couldn't be solved with some work, but I just decided that it was never going to be the "cruise to the ice cream parlor" type of rig that I really wanted.

I don't regreat selling it, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't sometimes daydream of having it back. I just wouldn't have it as my *only* Jeep. I'd have to have another "mild" one for road trips.
