Odometer Info

    I have bought a new (used dash). My question is the odometer/speedometer. The odometer still works, showing what I think is the original miles. Can that mileage be put into a new guage? I am planning to replace it with all new gauges.

    Yes. The speedo in my Jeep is a combination of two unit, one out of my Dad's, and the one out of mine. The odo is out of dad's. I just took it apart and rolled it over to match my odo....

    I'm not saying it's wrong to do that, and I'm not attacking Patrick for what he did, but there are laws about odometer tampering/repairing/replacing.
    I'd check to see what they are in your state.
    I know it's done all the time by vehicle enthusiests and I'm not attacking those folks who do it for all the right reasons.
    just a heads up that if done correctly, you won't have any problems in the future.
