alright so i just finished up spraying my cj, the second time in 2 days!!!!!!!!!! and my hood keeps getting like dust or somthing on it after i spray. its not dust dust but like dried paint dust, what is causing this?? its only on the hood, gun to far away? btw im using john deere blitz black.
i think it might be because my gun doesnt spray a thick enough spread or whatever its called
or maby because i cant get close enough to my hood because its so high up (tub hood and fenders are on the frame, which is sitting on top of 2 roll bars

ahhhh!! words cant express my happyness, i just love having to re sand my jeep for the 3rd time!!

its been the same thing all week,
get home from work, sand, paint, screw somthing up. live and learn i guess.... im buying a new gun this harbor freight grav fed gun has go to go

maby this should go in GD because this is more of a vent than tech

Are you standing the hood up to paint it? If it's laying down I think you'll always have overspray on it. Least that's the explanation I got one time I had a hood painted.

Hmm. I have never had too much trouble with that, even on the ones I have painted out in the driveway. It might be best if you take the hood off to paint it to keep from getting overspray on it. Are you painting it in a garage or outside??

One other question, how bad is the dusting, if it is just light you should be able to buff it some and get rid of it.

Cool, but like I said, if it's not too bad and it is just some overspray, you should be able to buff it back to shining, which is alot easier than sanding it all back down. Two more questions though, what air pressure are you painting with and about how far away are you having to hold the gun?
