74 cj5 lifted or not?

I finally got everything off of the jeep except the axles, but before I remove them I was wondering if my jeep has a lift or not. If it does it isn't much as it has 32x11.50 tires on it and not much room in the fenderwells. Can someone measure from the frame to the top of the axle and give me their measurements and what their current suspension is. Just want to know before I buy a lift that I really didn't need. Thanks in advance, Chad.

Do a search on the topic. I had questions about this same thing earlier this year. I can't remember off the top of my head what the measurements were.

Problem is that old springs sag - sometimes a LOT. Why do you want to know? If its just that you were wondering... I'd guess yes, unless there is a body lift of some sort. My '75 would rub with 32s.

If you are wondering what to replace the springs with to run the same size meat, you can probably run a 2.5" lift spring to run 32s without any trouble.

:iagree: I ran 33's on speedy with a 3" ProComp lift.

I run 33X12.50's with a 2.5 inch lift. I put my lift on this spring. Made a heck of a difference in the ride quality.

I want to lift it, but wasn't sure if it already had a 2.5 lift or not. I was pretty sure it wasn't a 4" but it never hurts to ask. As soon as the 32' are done I wan't to go to 33's but I sure don't want to have to buy 2 lifts. Thanks guys.

If your springs are really stiff, I would go ahead and get a set of softer 4" springs since you plan on bigger tires. If they are not too stiff and you can live with the performance, keep them for now if your current tires have room to travel up.
