    Hi all

Yesterday I had a really bad day at work, my boss is on vacation, but he calls 4 times a day to make follow up, and I had an argument with him, and so on...

So with that in mind, I went outside to change my brake pads. When I came back from my dads house one week ago, I heard a funny sound coming from the driver side front wheel. Ok, break time !!!

I found some break pads (30$), and for the disks, I'll wait to have more $ on hand.

Yesterday it was raining here. I did the job anyway, using a tent top as some kind of shelter. Here is what I found... (WARNING, FAINT OF HEART BEWARE, UNPLEASANT PICTURE...)

You can imagine the effect it had on the disks.

By the way, nothing beats some mechanical work out in the rain to clear one,s mind from work !!

    Thanks for listening

Bob in Sherbrooke, Province of Québec, who will tonight try the new breaks...

The pads from my Squareback looked like that. I installed new pads and drove it. Once the pads wear in to the rotors, they're fine. May not be the safest ride till then though.

Those pads look like they might be bad.:)

I agree with timgr, and I have also seen pads that were a little worse. It should be fine after a little driving.

I do this too. It's totally the wrong way to do things, but it gets you another couple years out of a set of rotors...

Roughing up the rotor with a little 80 grit sandpaper helps things wear in faster.
