refinishing wheels

    what's the best way to strip the paint from wheels? Mine are white with lots of chips and I wanted to repaint em.

    Definately sandblast first if you want them to look really good. After that, you can rattle can them and get them to look good, or paint like anything else. Powdercoating is the best and usually anywhere between $30-$50 per wheel, but well worth it.

    Should be able to do 4 or 5 rims in an hour depending on how bad they are and how good the sandblasting equipment is. Well worth the hour paid to use the blaster.

    Etching primer and then rattle can, the primer makes them last years longer. In Canada powdercoat is just about useless, peels off in chunks, but likely good where you are.
