Is it safe to assume that if your Jeep uses no oil between changes, water level doesn't change in radiatior, and the oil pressure is 60 on start up and 30 or higher when warm at idle, that the engine is in "good" condition as far as the bottom end is concerned???

I really don't know a whole lot about rebuilding engines and such. Just curious if I should keep putting upgrades on this engine or hold out and either rebuild or swap.

    Thanks guys

    I would.

If the compression is good, upgrade away.

I agree on checking compression, and you should be good to go with it.

I am confused on how it could not use any oil between oil changes if it is properly marking it's territory though. :)

    Well,

I would like to do the 4.0 head upgrade and fuel injection at some point. I would also like to put an aftermarket cam in.

Don't worry, it marks it's territory with power steering fluid:) :)

Guess I need to get a compression tester
