Switching Alternator

    Is there anything I need to do before I can install a Delco alternator in place of the Motorola, i.e., can they be interchanged and used with the same mounting hardware on the engine?

    I just put a powermaster alt. in today and it bolted right up in 5 minutes. It has an upgraded battery charge cable so my instructions had me run a 8 gauge cable from alternator to positive battery cable- no other wires hooked into alternator at all.

    Sounds like the ideal one-wire setup. What's the output rating and where did you get yours? Thanks.

    140A, Quadratec and 4Wheel Drive both carry it.
