The '73 is up on blocks getting its new lift. While up and fuel tank gone it seemed like a prime time to change rear diff fluid and clean/inspect/new brakes. On the driver side, diff cover off, I spun the wheel and watched the gears go round and the rear driveshaft spin. No binding, no noise, all looked well with the gears (no weird wear patterns, missing teeth, rust, etc., etc.). Replaced cover, filled with fresh SAE80. Was removing passenger brake and when the wheel would spin the rear driveshaft didn't. Hmmm. Went back to driver side , spun wheel and no rear driveshaft movement. No weird noises or binding feel. Any explanations for what happened?:?

Either open carrier, worn LSD clutches or possibly the trans was put into gear on 2nd check.

    Shouldn't be a problem as-is.
