I am thinking about putting the 225 V6 back into the Jeepster. There are currently holes in 2 of the pistons. I was thinking of replacing all 6 with some higher compression pistons (10:1ish) so I could change over to propane and make better use of the higher octane of it. Does anyone know of a decent source for pistons for this engine? Would I be better off to install stock pistons and mill the heads? Is the autozone rebuild kit still the favored 'bang for buck' kit?

thanks in advance for your help

are they the stock diameter for the 225 or did you need to do machine work? do you remember which small block V8 they are for? what did they cost?

Performance automotive warehouse (PAW) used to carry high compression pistons for the 225. Don't have current catalog though.

Give summit a call. They carry the Keith Black Silv-o-lites for the 225. Under $80 IIRC.

The 225 engine shares parts with the Buick 300 v8.
