I am trying to remove the carrier and ring gear from a dana 27 frontend to replace the inner axel seals. Axels are removed ,bearing caps off is there any thing else I am missing. I can't get this thing to move.

You're suppose to use a case spreader but, like Mike said a friendly nudge from a small crow bar will do the same job.

Thanks for the help. got it out with the crowbar and big hammer method Just wasnt sure if there was some other retaining device holding it in and did not want to break anything. Just have to put the seals in and reasemble, one more project almost done. Knuckle bolts front disks and new bearings and seals duel resivior mc and the old cj might actually have brakes again.

    Cutter,

I'm currently rebuilding my Dana 27 and want to upgrade the brakes. What kind of disk brakes did you use that fit?
