Has anyone experienced this? Jeep is running fine and then all of the sudden fuel starts pouring out of the lower half of the carb onto the manifold? Maybe a stuck float or something? I am confused. It is a 74 258 with a stock Roch carb. Any help?

I think it's more common with the 2100, but you could have a stuck float. Take it apart and look at it.

    You have a Carter YF if it's a 1V, not a Rochester. The V6s have a Rochester.

Duh I shut my brain off on Sundays. It is a YF. :? Good pick up Tim.

Here is what I came up with. I took the top of and shook out the float and sprayed some carb cleaner in there. I also adjusted that pump/metering rod adjustment screw. It was set at 3.5 turns out (rich) so I bottomed it and took it out 1 turn. I think that definitely helped a little. Anyhow it is not doing it anymore. Also fixed the leaky valve cover. Using the blue goop on each side of the cork gasket. Looks like it will hold. Thanks to all.
