Lug Removal

    I'm trying to save my hubs but don't care about the drums or studs. How is the best way to remove the lugs? I have a press but it looked as though I was gong to bend the hub flange if I pressed on.

    It's a 48 2A and I have all parts except the hubs.

    Use the press, or a large vise and a little heat on the hub flange around the stud. You'll need a pipe fitting, or an impact socket on the backside of the hub for the stud to have a place to go. If you're careful, the hubs won't be damaged but it is rare that you can save the drums because of the swaged studs.

    Just a question, the manual shows the hub on the inside of the drum in the exploded view (??). That can't be right can it?

    I'll tackle the rears this weekend. I bought the puller a year ago, now I'll finally try it out :stout:
