It should say on the face with the knobs. Hopefully it's a 4D or 4DI as the analog units were junk. The digitals weren't much better, but they seem to be a little more stable.

i hate to say it, but that looks like an older 2d system that programs with a little box with slide switches. guessing about 95 or 96 vintage. and i don't see the box. some of the really early ones had the knobs on the ecu (not good imho). anyway, open loop so no o2 and no self learn.
still not all bad, got it for about the same price as a truck avenger.

It isn't a 2D, the "D" stands for Digital- this is an analog system.

It appears to be the very early system with the MSD produced ECU- later models had the plug for the harness located right on the ECU. I have one of the later model analog Pro-Jections on my Scrambler, and it has been completely trouble free since '95, aside from a TPS failing after getting hood deep in water in '98.

Make sure you get full voltage to the fuel pump, and keep the ECU dry.

Thanks guys. Have a lead on another system so if its newer this one might be up for sale. Now from what i gathered there shouldnt be a problem on a of engine right? The tachsignal just tells the ecu the engine is running is the way i understand it. Thanks for all the help again.

All you need is a good ground, keyed power, power while cranking, a place for the temp sender, and a tach signal.

even its a D it still analog processes. the program they use is old block learn and in this case it don't learn. you give it a fuel curve and it follows it, period. second on the full voltage to f.p. and dry ecu. be sure you got good grounds.

Got it yeterday and it is the one with the ecu made by msd. Now my new problem is the offenhauser intake i have is a dual plane so it has four seprate holes that wont line up with the 2 bbl tbi. thinking a 1 inch spacer then the tbi adapter if it fits might help. Any idea on filters for the fuel pump? I know there touchy. Thanks

You need a spreadbore manifold for the Pro-Jection, so a squarebore to spreadbore adapter is in order.

I'll see if I can remember what filter I run now, but make sure you run both the one before the pump, and the one for the injection unit. Keep the pump close to the tank.
