No VIN #

I just bought a 1966 CJ-6 V-6 3 speed D-18 single stick. It was missing the vin plate so I cleaned off the frame and this is what I found for numbers A10334 ,it also had a little tag on the pass. side in the engine comp. the numbers where 395 and 255. Is this the paint code and options tag? I believe it may have been a "Tux" because it has chrome hood hinges , chrome windshield latches ,the holes in the hood were the badges may have been and a hole in the center of the hood in the very front, also the hood does not have the snorkel cut out. I am not sure what else would indicate this to be a "Tux" any other info would be welcomed. I will have some pics real soon and you thought Droopy Drawers looked bad just wait till you see this oneR) R) R)

 

395 = Glacier White
255 = 2/3-1/3 seats, Red Vinyl

 

If was an 'ordinary' cj6 10334 would be a 56 or 57.

If it was a tuxedo park it would be a 1966 cj6a. Judging from your description and pictures I'd say it was a cj6a.

Interesting -- 10335 is in California, and 10331 is in Tennessee.

It was also a V6 from the factory.

 

Question then.. Sorry for jumping on your thread, but when I get my truck home I was told thatb there is a cj5 frame under it..Are there any numbers to look for on the frame rails to find out what year it is??

Cop down the road has a tux hood w/ the emblems if you are interested.
