here are the pictures from the 1977 CJ-5 I6 im not very sure which transmission i have maybe T15 but anyways i need the best advice on changing this mount. The transmission does alot of moving when pulling a trailer or just driving down the road. it starts to twist sort of speak. i hope i dont have to drop the whole plate to just change this one mount. Advice please![IMG] here is the overall view and this picture is the upclose of the mount i need to be changing http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f116/sachurchill26/Jun15_001.jpg

The mount you have centered in your larger picture is the torque arm/torque mount. This is designed as a loose mount, and it's intent is to limit, but not prevent, twisting movement. From the pics, that mount looks fine. The mount you should replace is the tranny mount, the bigger, longer mount to the left. These are available new for something like $25 IIRC, in poly or rubber. Poly will last longer, but the rubber will give more and absorb noise/vibration/harshness (NVH); it just won't last forever. I'd recommend replacing your engine mounts and your tranny mount, you should see that twist you describe be almost eliminated.

IIRC, you have to lift the engine a bit to get one (passenger side??) of the engine mounts out and the new one in. We've done this with a floor jack and a block of wood under the oil pan... ;)
