Original soft top setup info needed.

    Hi All

    Does anyone have a picture of the original soft top setup?
    I have one with all of the bows and rods, but I am missing the center board that goes from the windshield to the first top bow. Any help would be great.

    If you're talking the original canvas with the bows in the sockets I don't remember a board being used. I think there was a strap, it's just been so long since I had mine I don't remember for sure.

    My '56 had the board from the w/s frame to the center bow. I'll hafta look, I "think" I still have it in my pile somewhere. There is a bracket on the front that mounts to the w/s frame.I had to remove it when I put the metal hardtop on. If I find it I'll post up a pic.

    Its for my 56 CJ5.

    Sid if you have the board and the bracket that would be great!
    I have yet to see any pictures of either.

    Was your top a half or full top. The instructions on the 3B page kind of hint that only the half top had the board, but it's been 39 years since I had my 1st CJ5 so I definitely don't remember everything about it. :hurrican:

    Had the full soft top when it was new. Gotta go look for the board and bracket tonite......:oops:

    Interesting. Mine was a '59 had the canvas top when we bought it in '67. Wish I could remember more about it.
