78 cj5 heater core question

hey guys i have noticed a few drips of antifreeze under cj when ever i get her out of storage .last few times i got her out i saw small wet area on passenger side floor board afraid to look cause i know it wont be easy to find or install core .i only drive in summer would it hurt to bypass core altogether if i do should i shorten hoses ?will i mess up cooling ?

 

Shouldn't be too much trouble to bypass it. I have always shortened the hose and have never had any cooling problems. If this is on your Levi though, I would only do this temporarily though while you round up a heater core. It shouldn't be too hard to find or install on a 78.
