I have a '73 CJ5 with what I think is the T-14 3 spd tranny. I haven't crawled under the Jeep to see what the stamp says on the transmission. If I do have one of these, there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of info about them. Most of the catalogs don't even mention them. Other than the stamping, is there a sure way to tell what I have?

Pretty much guaranteed to be a T-14. The only way it would not be is if you have a 4-speed T-18 or if it's been swapped out.

There will be a casting number on the side of the case of T14A or 1302 http://www.jeeptech.com/wiki/index.php/Transmission/Factory/T-14

From the factory, all Borg-Warner transmissions get a metal tag under one of the cover bolts with the Jeep P/N and the designator T-14 and a B-W number. These are often lost, and can only be reached from above.

If you need parts they are readily available from 4wd hardware among other places. These are not rare by no means, just not modern.
