Has anybody made fiberglass body stand? I want to fabricate something, probably out of wood so I have more room to work on it. Maybe add some wheels. Where is the best place to sit the tub without cracking it? Any ideas? Plans?

Cut a hole in the floor for your stickshift to go through, and rest it on the frame.

Toss the old steel tub out behind the garage to use for reference and making templates. The last thing you want to do, IMHO, is work on a fiberglass body NOT on the Jeep.

Case in point: Lets say you want to mount the stock heater assembly. First, the firewall is a different profile than the steel tub, so the heater box has to shift outboard. ow, your battery tray shifts outward. Will it hit the fender when the fender is installed? Will the cold air duct from the cold air intake be long enough to reach the heater box? If you cut holes for the steering column, will it be in the right place?

The stand is a great idea for putting a spray-in liner or prepping the body, but for little else.

The stand is for prepping and so on. It is not a new tub. It was put on by the PO and is needing some minimal repair. I should have clarifyed that from the beginning. thanks for the reply though
