There is no trick at all. As a matter of fact, if you pull your line from the wheel cylinder, you should get a steady flow of fluid dripping out. If you don't, then the line is plugged or the valve is plugged. If you do get the trickle, then the cylinder is plugged.

I haven't bled disc brakes in a long time, but isn't there a little button on the prop. valve that you have to keep pulled out to pass the fluid? :?

    NAPA

NAPA has the greatest thing for bleeding brakes. It is a one-way bleeder valve.

Simply replace the bleeder valves you have with four of the special valves.

Now, take the bleeder furthest from the M/C and loosen it a little.

Here is where the beauty of these special valves comes in. When you press on the brake pedal and it goes to the floor, it will discharge air through the bleeder, BUT when you let off the pedal, it will not suck air back through the valve because it is a one way valve. When all you pump out is fluid, tighten the valve and go to the next wheel cylinder.

You can bleed the whole system in five minutes or so by yourself. No more yelling at the wife / girlfriend that she let up on the pedal before you could get the valve re tightened and now there is more air than before you started.

I don't have part numbers, but a good NAPA parts man can get you squared away.

I think you're valve is plugged. i just went through that with a 2000 TJ, so anythings possible. I took it off and blew compressed air through it.

There shouldn't be a trick to it. As said before fluid should gravity bleed out of the system when you open the bleeder, make sure you open the cover of the master. start with the wheel farthest from the master.

I just gravity bled my entire system from dry (replaced everything.) I had to coax a little fluid flow to the rear brakes by pushing the pedal down SLOWLY with one rear bleeder open. I let it gravity feed until it had good fluid dripping and the system worked perfectly.

I just helped a friend with his '78 Cj with discs, FSM says to remove the brake switch(plastic-crossthreads real easy) on top of the proportioning valve, then bleed away. Not sure with drums.
