I am going to install the electric wipers back on my new windsiheld frame. Well i know they are longer than needed, how much can i trim on the wiper shaft? Looking at it, it seems to be a solde shaft surrounded by a threaded sleeve. I want to cut it all down about an inch and a half. Is the solid wiper shaft solid all the way down and i can trim the sleeve and shaft? These are the cheapie wipers that we usually find.

I used a flat plate that attaches to the inside for the windshield frame so I wouldn't have to shorten the motor shaft. I can post a pic later this afternoon if needed.

Dan I trimmed mine, and IIRC the shaft and sleeve were solid all the way through, but I had to disassemble the motor to do the job. Seems like I could trim as needed, so measure and cut...
