Hey so i put this great walnut wheel by Grant to replace the oe bus style wheel. Im happy with the results and the installation was pretty easy. However, with the concavity of the wheel and the adaptor my new wheel sits right up in my chest. Can i cut the stock steering shaft or do i have to buy a new one? It needs to be shorter, what should i do.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.:coffee:

We normally cut out 6" from the middle of the shaft, use a peice of 3/4" ID DOM drilled and spot welded to strengthen the splice, the cut the end of the housing off an equal amount, put it pack together, works good.

JMO - that's an important weld if you do it. Should get a pro to help you if you don't have much experience welding.
