Just installed new wiper blades and arms I got from Krage. The blades keep whackin' the hood rests on the top of the windshield frame:( . How long are the arms supposed to be on a '69 5? The ones I have are 11.5 inches.

I thought it was 10". Are your wiper arms adjustable?

I had a similar post with not much help. I went through the same issue with my '60 (top mount narrow glass). I bought the smallest blades from Walck's. I think they were 10" adjustables. I had to clip about an inch off the end. They were stainless and I used a set of diagonals and clipped and bent the edge back to keep the blade from sliding out.
    Good luck

The Arm and Blade are both 11.5 inches. Really need about a 9 inch blade. Saw one for an M38A1, but not sure it will work with the CJ arms.

My FLAPS sold me the AANCO brand that have adjustable arm length and blade angle...work great.

Odd long shot: the hood rests are notched for clearance. By any chance are they on downside-up?

Hmmmmm. I'll have to check. Could be, but the blade would still have to wipe the seal to get that high.

    That sounds like a plan.

Oops. Got up too early. Was thinking of top mount wipers.

Walch's has 9" blades that finally solved my problem. I also have an adjustable tip at the end of the arm. There are two plastic disks that are held together with a machine screw. By loosening the screw you can change the angle of the blades to make them miss the windshield molding. There are also arms out there that you can retract or extend the end of the arm.
