what to do with tie rods

    those of you that have done SOA, did you make a "ski" type thing to weld on to the bottom of the axle so the tie rods and etc. are not bent while offroading. im sure there not that durable in that sense.
    im going to have to weld something there because the leafs give/gave the rods and etc. good protection

    I have read that the best idea is to do a high steer conversion so that everything stays up out of the way. I think you can put different knuckles on your axles to accomplish this.

    Have you googled SOA???

    There has to be some info out there in cyberspace.

    Yah, just go highsteer and you'll be good. Your steering will function correctly after the SOA swap. I would even go so far as to make stronger links and use stronger tie rod ends, but thats up to you.

    I believe if you're running the stock open knuckle d30 that you can just bolt standard chevy/jeep d44 flat top knuckles on and use d44 steering arms. I do know that Partsmike sells all this stuff so you might go look there. Several companies sell d44 histeer arms.
