I'm pretty sure I know the procedure to change the jets in the 2G but just wanted to double check.

    1. Disconnect throttle linkage, air cleaner, and fuel line
    2. Unscrew and remove top cover
    3. Remove old jets and screw in new ones
    4. Reassemble

Do I need to drain the fuel bowl before I unscrew the old jets? Should the timing or anything need to be adjusted to compensate for the new lean mixture?

Yes. make sure your gaskets are in good shape. Timing won't need to change.....

Make sure you check your plugs after you run it. Make sure you didn't lean it too much. They should have a tan appearance, not white. Also you might want to do a high speed throttle chop to ensure a lean condition does not exist at high rev's. Run your Jeep up to a high cruise speed (moderate to high RPM's) for about two or three miles, slip the clutch in turn the ignition off, coast down, and in a safe place stop and pull the plugs and read them, none should be ash white, if so it's too lean. Why are you leaning it out?

Colorado - have to lean everything out here. Usually @ 4 to 6 jet sizes depending on the carb and altitude you run at.

Yep, moving from Ohio to Colorado, an elevation change from about 700' to 7500'. Not sure what size jets are in the carb now but I have a set of 50's and a set of 48's on the way. I should be able to make one of the the 2 work. Thanks guys!!
