Has anybody any insight about trailering your CJ in gear or in nuetral? I can see how nuetral would put less load on drive gear but the thought of putting the Jeep in 4WD low to keep it planted is appealing since I don't have an emergency brake hooked up yet.
    Feedback?

Always left mine in gear. If a tie down came loose or broke it would not start to roll around and give time to get stopped.

We have gotten drunk before and hauled them in gear only, no tie downs. I WOULD NOT RECOMEND THIS! However, if it had not been in gear, I know it wouldn't have made it.:)

Hey thanks. That is not the answer I anticipated but that eases my mind.

Unfortunately, not joking. Not really drunk though but it seemed like something we must of been drunk to do. We just forgot to tie it down. Since we were only going to the next house down on a back country road, I guess we didn't do our usual checks to make sure everything was secure. It was close enough that we actually could have just about pushed it there but it still was a wake up call when we went to unload it and realized that we hadn't used any kinds of tie downs. If it hadn't been in gear, it would have never made it out of the driveway and probably would have hit some of our other vehicles. WE WERE LUCKY! Now, we double and even tripple check everything before we trailer anything.
