    Mulling over some options here.

Seeing this thread: http://www.earlycj5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=27991 w/ the wheel spacers to clear 11" drums makes me think that they'd allow the wheels to clear brake calipers as well.

Right now I have 15x10" wide wheels with 33x12.50 tires.

    I'm debating on 32x9.5 or 33x10.50 tires.

There's still plenty of KH 15x8" wheels new on E-bay FS right now. I could buy 4 or 5 new ones and the spacers and be at or under $500. Throw on some 33x10.5 tires and go. Just wondering if it'd contacts the front fender. I'm thinking with the backspacing plus the narrower tire I'd be about where I am now as far as the outside edge of the tire. Heck I have 4 KH 15x8 wheels at home right now on Eugene. Three I know are good. One might be too corroded inside due to a PO using Fix-A-Flat and not getting the tire repaired. So it could be a relatively cheap way to get rid of the wagon wheels. Well, not as cheap as buying some Smooth Ds and throwing them on. But it'd have a more classic look.

    Thoughts?

Sparky, I've been thinking of spacers also. Patrick uses 1.5" spacers on
his rig. He hasn't had any problems w/ them. Hopefully he'll chime in. It
seems like a pretty good and cheap solution. I think I have a website
for the spacers. Lemme see if I can dig it up.

There's a website in that thread I mentioned. $250 w/ shipping for all 4 IIRC.

Hmm. Interesting. That would be much cheaper!

I only have 1 day to figure it out though. ;)

They are on there all the time. I've been looking @ them for a couple of
months and the price is always about there. I'd bet you have more than
    a day!!!!

I figured as much. I know Patrick's not had any issues with his spacers.

Hmm. Makes me think it's an even better option for that price on those. Two KH wheels new. Blast all of 'em, powder coat and buy some new 33X10.5 tires.

I'm just wondering how far they'll stick out being spaced out 1.5". Guessing it wouldn't be too far. The backspacing on the 15x8's sucks the wheels up under the tub and fenders of a stock 5 nicely and I've got flares now, I know, I know, Mcruff. R)

Might have to do some measuring and fiddling around this week.

33X10.5's will look really good. I have flares also. Don't like them, but
the PO attached then in such a way I have to plug the holes. Not @ the
top of the list yet. Patrick has the thinner flares. I think Boyink used a set
on his. That's what I'm planning on using. But again it's not the top of my
    list. Yet!!!

That's the flares I have on mine. It'd be easy to patch, fiberglass, painting would be the issue for me.

The thinner ones??? I really like them. I have the "stock" ones on mine now.
I would like to go w/out them, but I like not having to worry about mud...
The thinner ones look alot nicer.

Look Sparky no flares.:D Seriously though they won't stick out much, remember I have a dana 30 up front with 8" wheels, they stick out about
    2½". Not bad at all.

I'd stick with the 10.5 wide tires on 8" rims Sparky. The closer the rims are to the advertised width of the tire the more the rims tend to "flatten" out the tire. Tires that are 2" wider than the rim makes for a pretty good look IMHO.

This pic was with the KH rims and 31x10.50 tires:

Nope but my axle is about 1.5" a side wider than yours, so basically the same thing. And yes 31x10.5 are ideally suppose to run on 8" rims. The ideal rim width is the same as the tread width +/- 1" not the tire width.
