so, I'm collecting the rest of the parts that I'll replace. The question of shackles has come up. I asked last week and got some recommendations, but everything I look at calls them "Lift shackles". I thought those were bad. The springs I ordered are only a 1" lift. I called Superlift and asked what I should do with shackles. The guy asked me if I had the "C" style and I said yes. He said those would work just fine with my new springs. Last summer I ordered 4 new "C" style shackles (I was thinking of keeping everything original back then). So now I'm thinking that since I have new "C"'s, that I should just use those instead of the "H" style. Aside from the cost savings, what are the benefits of the "H" over the "C"? I'm thinking that the "C" I have now have lasted more then 50 years, so why mess with it?

What would you guys do? Use the new "C"?
    Order "H"? Benefits?

I wouldn't bother with changing from the C' style if you're gonna leave it mainly stock. I have wheeled mine for year with the stock flat plate style with no problems. The H style are more a gimmick, than anything, especially if your not gonna wheel it hard.

Whatelse hardware wise do I need? Bushing kits?
Should I get 4 of these?

    or these?

I'm lacking the vocabulary for all of these parts. What is a spring bushings (which are included with my spring kit), versus a "bushing kit" for "pivot blots". I want to replace everything besides the spring hangers.

Sorry to be so confused on this stuff.

FWIW the H type shackles allow for a little more flex of the suspension. You might need to call and ask about the pivot bolts and such. Are the greasable ones in your Jeep now? The C shackle inserts replace the regular bushings in the spring. On the pivot end there might be a bronze bushing for the spring. Best to call and get the scoop.

Call 4wd.com? The Superlift guy didn't seem to know anything.
