    Howdy All!

New to the forum and having issues with my turn signal switch. The PO had all kinds of spaghetti happening under the dash and I'm almost done repairing everything. I cannot find a schematic that matches my wire colors. The wires coming from the switch are as follows: white, light green, red with white, red with black, green with white, and green with black. These are all in the standard "pyramid" plug and there's a seperate plug with a black wire with yellow tracer. Any help would be GREATLY apprecaited!

    here's a pic from a 72 manual
    colors described are different
    maybe plug orientaion might help
the external black w/ yellow should be the horn ground wire
it terminates under the column tube , below the wheel, at the 2 screw contact plate

Thanks for the pic! That is exactly the switch and connector, the only difference is the color of the wires coming into the connector from the switch. After looking everywhere, I'm starting to think that the PO replaced the switch with an aftermarket one. (even though the manufacturer/model number seem correct) I may just give in and head to NAPA tomorrow and see if they stock a universal switch that comes with a diagram! Thanks again!

I wouldn't junk the switch, unless you know it is bad..
you can apply B+ power to the switch wires and figure out the circuitry to make sure it's working...
plus it's integral part of your horn wiring

You know, I saw that link that you had posted to a previous question and started thinking about pulling the switch apart to "color-code" it from the inside out using the contacts. Then, I started looking at the rust, etc on the bottom of the housing and started to re-think that option. I'm trying to convine "The Warden" to come bump the starter for me tonight so I can install my distributor/wires. If unsuccessful, I'll probably pull it apart tonight and decide. Thanks for the links!

BTW, glad you guys are back! We had the "R" guys with us at Taji for a while and we now have their birds.

    --UPDATE--
I finally got some time and pulled the signal apart..and found the source of my problems. The circuit board inside was in really bad shape. One of the contacts was completely rotted out and the others were so badly corroded that it was DOA. The arm had become difficult to move and it was all corroded too. I got a new signal-stat from vehiclelight.com and ALAS, it has the correct wire colors! (and a schematic!) Just when I was having fun with the meter..... BIG THANKS to Jim and Kevin!
