Would a 70 Dauntless CJ5 have a fan shroud? Anyone have a picture?

Just ran out and looked at mine. Looks like there certainly could be one. Brackets are drilled as though there should be one. But, I ain't got one..... Dunno what that means. Some help, huh?

A '68 w/V6 I bought some years ago had a factory plastic shroud bolted to the rad. I sold it to someone in FL back in '98 or so.
I'd imagine that a '70 could have had one as well.

I took another from the other side, but I am out of attachment space and don't have FTP set up on this laptop (to post on my web server), and my wife won't give up the desktop since she is actually working ;)

Sparky, you wanna post the pics in the gallery? I can email them to you. This one seems to come up from time to time.

If the CJ5 radiator is the same as in the same year Jeepster Commando with a V6, then my friend JeepDog on the Jeepster Commando site makes a fiberglass Repo. shroud. It really helps in keeping them cool; I think the basic grill and radiator are the same with the Jeepster grill just having some ears or extension added on that make it different from a CJ. Actually you can take them off and you have a CJ grill. So, I would think they would work. I have told him before to advertise on the CJ sites. I think he checked it out to see if they where the same.

Really? As I recall my Commando was the same from the cowl forward as my CJ-5 for all intensive purposes. So it should work.

That'd be very 8) if we could get those now.

I think it was beeser who looked into this and said it wouldn't fit/work

:? Why not? Curious now. Really curious. I can't think of anything that was different but it's been a long while since I owned a :v6: Commando.

I searched and found some discussion about it, but nothing concrete.
    it may have been pruned
seems the persons add for them was posted in classifieds, and then the discussion started from there; fiberglass repro for commando
maybe beeser could clear this up
    beeser !!!!!!!!!!

I looked in the parts manual, and it lists different part numbers for the Commando vs Universal (CJ5) V-6 shrouds. Interestingly enough, the radiator core part numbers listed for the 22 inch wide radiator is the same between CJ and Commando. The radaitor core part numbers listed for 17 inch wide V-6 radiators is different between the two. Are the repro shrouds for the 17 or 22 inch radiators?

On CJs, the motor is slightly offset in the chassis. Does anyone know if the V-6 in the commando is also slightly offset? If not, this may be why the shrouds have different part numbers (fan wouldn't be in the same place relative to the radiator/shroud).
