got my credit card balance back down to zero and now it's time to order the new springs/hardware for my '53 M38-A1. I've talked about this before here a little and it was suggested that I order a set of Rancho 1" lift springs. I called around and they are not manufactured anymore, but I can probably find a new set. I'm also wanting a set of new "H" schackles with all the rubber parts that I need. Think I'd have to replace the spring perches as well? One of the perches has been welded looks like. Or, should I at least? What all do I need to order? Pinion bolts? I have the stock springs now, 12 leaf in the back with 10 leaves up front, all origonal rubber and "C" style shackles.

I'm ready to tear into things, just need to make sure I order the correct parts that will fit.

I replaced the stock springs with ~2" Skyjacker Softride. The ride is sooo much better. I was unable to measure before & after ride height due to a broken original spring but it seemed like the Jeep went up a lot more than 2", however, I'm sure part of that was due to the original springs being so sagged out. The new springs eventually settled out so not so high now.

I really like the confer shackles.

In my experience with spring pads they can usually be fixed with a little welding.

Looking at the Rancho catalog, there are front and rear springs and also spring kits. What is in a spring kit? Could I just say the catalog numbers, 2 kits for each end, order 4 shackles and have everything I need?

This is screwy. It lists the A1 and flatfender as the same kit. I don't think so.
