    Hello,

I have what's left of my 24volt system but the wiring is gone and so my question is, Can I run my 24volt system off of a 12volt wiring kit from Ron Francis Wiring? To my understanding the actual wire gauge should not matter but, the fuse box may not work correctly. I think a 24volt system would work off of lower amperage fuses, right?

I wouldnt..I tried ,some wires got overheated and started to soften up.then got brittle and cracked..PERSONAL OPINION

All else being equal, a wire must carry twice the amperage at 12 volts that it would at 24, given the same electrical job to do. It would need to be heavier gauge wire for the 12 volt system, in theory.

And so, I think you are right about the fuses, they would be half the capacity, theoretically.

I would think a 12 volt harness should handle 24 volts just fine, since the amperages should be lower.

    Exactly Pete,

In accordance with amperages and voltages, a 12volt wire should be able to handle the same amount of work under 24volts.

    Any other experiences out there?
