Hey guys. I am getting ready to pull the engine and I got to looking at the existing motor mounts and the drivers side has been cut out and the PO has fabbed in an extension. Though I am pretty sure this is a Hurricane, I am now wondering what vehicle this came out of. Also, is it possible to fix this engine so I dont have to fab this extension on my new(used) frame. :? Can I replace the mounting plate that is atatched behind the timing chain?

The Jeep is a 1960 Willys cj5 (well, most of it is)
The block is stamped 646228-W-12-D-AR CU CR

    Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure, but that doesn't look like a :hurrican: to me. Any better pics of the engine?

[EDIT] Now I'm really not sure. Doesn't appear to be a fuel pump on the right side which is throwing me off maybe. If I'm really screwy and it's a hurricane, it may have the front plate from a truck or wagon, those are different IIRC.....

it looks to me like the factory motor mount (frame mount) has been torched and replaced with what we see in the pic.
I think the F4 CJ engine mounting plate has the drivers side foot facing forward and the pass side rearward; so I think that plate is not original, maybe the wagon/pu plate as mentioned above; which would account for the mount being fabbed up, I think.........

Thanks for the reply. Here is an over head of the engine while it was still running. The oil bath was in pretty bad shape so I replaced it with a K&N. Its not the best picture but the wife is in bed and the camera is in her bedstand. I can take some better ones tomorrow.
I had always thought this was a F134 Hurricane. I wouldnt assume to know enough to be sure so.... Anyway, it has the T90 tranny and Dana 18 T-case. After looking at it some more, it looks a though the 'mounting plate'??? can be removed. Could this have come from a jeep truck?

A guess from Memory or a lead of where to look to find-out--

because my old Dad had Jeeps and Willys Cars--

    Might be-
1950ish Willies Aero Ace Four Cylinder engine-- Or Rambler or Nash Engine.
The four and Six Cylinder engines from Willys, Nash and Rambler bolted right up to a T-90.
