I was in a hurry on my lunch break to install some new plug wires and I think I may have got a couple mixed up or something and I need a diagram to show what goes where. It is running like a complete turd. I was also messing with my points so I am also going to gap those out to .016. Can I use the diagram in the electrical section or does anyone have one that is a little more spelled out.

You need to know where posistion one is on the cap then just install the wires clockwise 1-6-5-4-3-2 and you are good to go.
If you have lost posistion one go to the drivers side bank pull the number one cylinders plug and place your finger over the spark plug hole turn the motor over slowly till you start to here air excapeing when the air stops you are at top dead center or close enough. Then you can pull your cap and where the rotor points is the number one cylinder.
drivers side is 1-3-5 from the front passenger is 2-4-6 from the front

We'll I noted the position of the number one cylinder before I took the wires off and I also made a mistake and gapped the points to .020 instead of .016 so that may also be the problem.

Tyler when you find this out mark the tower as number one and then every distributor cap you ever buy mark it the same before installation.
Mallory's dual point distributor caps are marked when you buy them.
Also get a dwell meter and set the points by dwell not gap, much more acccurate.
Just as a point of referance, on all engines the number 1 cylinder is the one closest to the grill, v'd engines are number 1,3,5,7 on the drivers side and 2,4,6,8 on the passenger side or less if it is a v4 or v6.
