When I pulled the rear driveshaft to start my tranny and transfer rebuilds I could only get three of the flange bolts out , one was spinning inside the parking brake drum. An air chisel got the bolt off. Has anyone used JB weld inside the brake drum to keep the bolt heads from spinning? Would it hurt anything to just replace the bolts and tack weld them to the drum to prevent this? Thanks

Sounds like you had a damaged or incorrectly sized bolt in there. There should be a lip inside there to keep the bolt from turning IIRC.

Yes the bolt was damaged, the nut started off then galled or stripped in the threads. The lip in the drum wore enough to let the head turn.
