I'm wanting a center console in my 75, but I know that they don't make one to fit it b/c of the seat brackets. Do any of you have a console in your rides and if so, any pics of the mods you had to make for it to fit? I really like the ultimate locking console by bestop, but I don't have one, so i'm not sure how I could make it fit.
    Thanks

Yup, I made my own last year. I had the same problems so I just made my own. Its still isn't really done. An ammo can works well too. If you search in the fabrication forum you can probably find all the pics. Here is a nearly finished one:

Here is one of it under construction:

    Enjoy!

    Great topic !!

Seems like us Intermediate owners were left high and dry regarding consoles.

Ghetto fab........that looks like a great job ! Would you be interested in making me one for my 75 ? I'm sure others would be interested too.....

I am using one for a YJ in my 72 CJ5.
It pretty much just jammed in between my seats. I had to put an extention on my seat belt bolts so they wouldn't be covered.
It comes a little close to my transfer case shifter, but other wise fits great, and I needed the beer, I mean cup holders. I'll take some pics soon.

I went ahead and ordered the Ultimate locking console from quadratec. I think it will fit, but if it doesn't, guess I'll have to send her back. I'll post up pics when I get it in.

Mine is also just wedged in between the seats. The seatbelt on the drivers side is a little tight but the passengers side is OK. Funny thing is, my console is a locking console...SO if anyone wants what's inside they just have to take the whole thing...LOL.

    Thanks for the compliments guys!

Honestly, if I were to make some up they'd wind up costing more than the Tuffys and probably not be the same quality.

If all else fails get an ammo can and add a lock to it. I was just looking around on pirate offroad and someone added a lock much like mine and it turned out pretty slick.

Will you be using the factory seat mounts for the seats you ordered? Because I think the factory mounts in a 75 are the same as a 72, and if those seats work they would be perfect for what I am looking for. Please let me know if they fit, or what mods you have to do in order to make them fit.

I built a console out of a ammo can.

I used blocks of plastic as spacer between the radio and the sides of the box.

Actually the seat mounts on my jeep are about a half of an inch to narrow for the sliders on my new seats to bolt on so I'm just going to weld them straight on to the seat brackets.
