Bearing cap to steering knuckle torque specs?

    Looking for torque specs for the bearing cap to steering knuckle on a D-25? Thanks in advance for your help.

    I found the steering arm to knuckle specs at 55-65 so the cap should be in the same ball park.

    Hmmm, a quick look through the FSM didn't give up that info. (Your original question....)

    mpc just asked that a week or two ago. I couldn't find it listed in the FSM either.

    I went to about 20lbs and called it good :rofl:
    It felt about right R)

    I'll be watching to see if anyone knows, cuz I've only done one side so far.

    This is from the '72 manual:

    I'd expect the settings for the 30 to be close ('72 Wagoneer had a closed-knuckle 30).

    i believe i have my 27a at about 30-35 but i found it in my fsm.
    then used blue locktite
    i'm in tucson this week so i can't look it up
