Geez, whenever I get an answer to something it seems I always find another question. Recently posted about tire size (and got the new 31's -- thanks to all of the responders!). Now I'm working on the steering on the ol' '69, since my guess is that no one ever did any maintenance. I wanted to replace the tie rod ends, have seen some recently on Ebay that mentioned they're a heavier grade than stock, being for an M38A rather than a CJ-5. Also have seen some derogatory comments on here for some overseas-supplied parts, and wondered if there was any concensus about what source to use for steering parts on this soon-to-be daily driver. Had some bad experiences with steering issues on past vehicles, and while these make for great bar stories afterward, it makes me twitch to think about putting junk parts in such a critical role. Any thoughts from the great Jeep-owning public?

If you're running 31s, factory style TREs will be fine. NAPA, Advance, Auto Zone, whatever. You can ask them about brands, maybe select a known brand. Got mine from 4WDH, stock type, with 33" MT tires, no probs.

Thanks Lynn, I'll probably go the NAPA route then.
