door hinge questions?

I have a 72 CJ5. I just found some used Bestop half doors that I am getting. I don't have any hinges on my CJ body, and cannot locate them anywhere on-line.
All I get with a search is lower door hinges for 76-newer. How do these half door mount up to my CJ, and where can I find some upper and lower hinges?
The doors I am getting have the two pin style drop in.

If you want to hack into your body, you can mount 76 and later hinges.

What style are the Bestop 1/2 doors?

If they're like the Supertop doors for '55-'75 CJs then the hinges mount differently than the '76 and later hinges from what I can recall of MOPs vs. my hinges I think

Never tried to put my Whitco doors on his Bestop Jeep and vice-versa.

They are the Bestop Super-top upper and lower doors. The lower door has the two pins to drop into a hinge. Can I bolt on two sets of lower door hinges to make it work?
The 76 and up use the windsheild/rear view mirror bracket for a hinge.

I know what they both function like. I have a '76 top on my Jeep. MOP has the Supertop on his that I helped install. What I'm saying is I'm not sure that the hinges are in the right place.

That said, two lower door hinges on both sides would be my first try.

It isn't quite as easy as swapping a 76 or newer windshield hinge.

The windshield frame is mounted differently, so you'd have to remove the old uppers and bolt in the new hinge. (I wouldn't do this because there isn't any 'meat' that the newer hinge can screw into in the old frame)

You could cut and shape the hinge to fit the older style. I did this once with mixed result.

The better approach might be to weld a hinge or hinge section to your existing hinge bottom.

If I was doing this again, that is what I would do.

After going out and looking at the door mounts on my 80 CJ-5 (I also have Bestop half-doors) I think that if you had the lower mounts, which bolt to the body, you could fab an upper mount by welding a 2 inch piece of 3/8 id tubing to the windshield hinges or even the upper body if you had to.

    Update:
I called Bestop direct today , which is conveniently located in Colorado, and got some info from a super helpfull lady.
She said the two piece doors for 55-75 can only be purchaced with the Bestop Super-top, so she looked up the part number on the top (51595) and looked under the parts and hardware identification page to find that I can order the hinges independently.
Part # 252.15. $3.85 per one (x4 needed) and $4.00 shipping. They should be here in a couple of days.
It is nice to actually get what you want when talking Jeep parts to strange sales ladies over the phone.

Does anyone know where I can find the door half of the hinges that bolt to the windshield. I have a 66 CJ5 I just bought a used hard top for and I have the halves that were on the jeep when I bought it. I,ve looked everywhere online I think, but, haven't had any luck. Thanks in advance. BTW didn't want to start a new thread.
