O/D issues

    OK, what am I doing wrong? great weather were having and wanted to put the O/D back inthe jeep. Problem is, it wont come off the truck. I got the lock ring off, now the 4 pronged washer is stuck. Won't move. Any ideas?

    She looks wedged - give it a little turn to line up the notches and then tap it to see if it pops loose.

    yeah, tried that. No luck. couldnt move it either way. there is nothing physically holding it in.

    How did you try it? With a 1/2" drive extension?

    This is the washer that sits on top of the lock nut. The lock nut uses a 1/2" drive to tighten it down. a 1/2 in drive won't fit inside the washer. 3/8s drive is too small.
    Another reason on my list why I need a inside bearing puller....

    Hard to tell from photo, but is it sitting flat on the lock nut. If its not it will bind. Only suggestion would be to get a hold of Herm. Send him an email with the photo and see what he says. If anyone would know, I would think he would....

    It is sitting flat across the locknut. I will call Herm and see what he thinks. I'm sure it's something simple. Like most things......

    Stuck by suction?? Maybe the oil's holding it on? Just a thought...

    I've had them stuck with suction before. Try getting a 3/8's extension in it (works sometimes) and see if it will wiggle loose.
