I got a little carried away today and put the tranny, transfer case, clutch bell housing, and engine all back together. Now I have to figure out how to get it all back into the jeep as one unit. Is it possible? When I measured today as an afterthought, it did not look like the transfer case would have room to get by the power station mount. Do I have to seperate the bellhousing from the tranny and install them seperately again, or does anyone have any tricks??? :?

IF you have the grill off, or folded down in the case of a M38A1, it can be done. I did my 225 / T-98 / D18 combo that way. Hook your chains up near the rear of the engine to better balance the assembly and you can do it.

Yup it can be done with it all assembled. Just pull the grill off and once the engine is bolted in you should be able to just line up the crossmember and bolt it in.

Thanks for letting me know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I do infact have the front grill off right now, so I'm good to go there. Can you all tell me how you managed to get the transfer case and tranny past the power station platform? When I measured in there, the transfer case and tranny were approx 19" wide and the gap between platform and steering box was approx 16.5"

would instert the engine/tranny/transfer at an angle to gain clearance. Worst case, I would remove the transfer.
