i read an article once about this setup (i have the same but not installed yet). they guy said he had to use the largest throwout bearing he could find to make it work. i dont remember what the problem was, but it had to be replaced a few times. wish i remembered more.

I have a 71' with 231 and SM465....pretty close. There was a write up here somewhere regarding this. Chevy uses a number of different throw out bearings. I used the largest one also. Timken part # 614037. If you can find the write up it shows the different lengths. I also purchased the clutch fork from Novak but ended up using the stock fork.

Still have the Novak if anyone is interested......free you pay shipping from 95136.

Found it. If you go to this page and look for throw out bearings they have a chart of all available. I hope this helps!
