Can you replace the 1963 Dana 44 2 piece axles with the 1970 to 1971 CJ-5 Dana 44 solid flanged axles? Is this a direct replacement? Were the housings the same. Where is a good place to get the replacement axles if possible?
    Thanks for the help

The short answer is no, you can't just switch axles - found on this thread http://www.earlycj5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12175&highlight=dana+44

I'd try to find an entire assembly, or some variation of an entire jeep and swap housings. The parts you don't need you can sell, and help recoup some cost of buying the parts jeep. I'm currently doing just that.

BTW, welcome from VA. Fill out your info so we know where you're talking to us from.
