Does anybody know if these guys are still in business? Looks like their site is down and haven't been able to reach them by phone. I really like the fast back style tops, is any other company making them?
    Thanks again.

Dang...dang...dang. I waited to long. I did find another place, California Tops that makes this style (not really the same, but a fastback) but have read very mixed reviews.
    Oh well
    Thanks

ps Anyone have one for a 79 CJ5?? I'd love to buy or burrow to have a canvas place copy..

Oh yes, what Tumbleweed said.

Back in the early days of JU, when all the SWB Jeeps were on one forum, Tim from California Tops became infamous as a classic nutcase. Tops didn't fit, or were not delivered. He would not honor valid warranty claims, and was caught in one lie after another. From the emails that recipients posted to the board, it was clear that this guy did not have a grasp on reality

Sadly, I believe most of the collected info on this was lost in a JU server crash some years ago. It was fascinating reading...
You might try a search at JU on the CJ board, or Wrangler board, see if any of the info was re-posted, or look for other accounts of dealings with Calif Tops.

Yes, there are some who recieved an excellent product in a timely manner from him. It's a crapshoot.
Personally, I'd put my money into a product like a Bestop or other...
the product may not be as good as Cailf Tops best work, but at least you know you're dealing with a reputable company.

I recall that I posted Rockgear was out of business here some time ago, prolly in OT. I know I remember seeing it announced for sure though.

    X3 on the Caltops thing.
